Please note this post will be based at New Cross Hospital with occasional travel to other RWT sites.

Interviews will be held face to face onsite at New Cross Hospital.

This an exciting opportunity to join the team at The Royal Wolverhampton Trust.

We are looking for a Trainer to join the Project Delivery Team.


Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the post-holder will as part of the team assist in the design, delivery and support of Ophthalmology EPR System training across The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT).

Be ultimately responsible to the Ophthalmology EPR Project Manager for the training delivery and related activities.

Facilitate the development of the Ophthalmology EPR training Project and the related documentation.


Actively work as part of the Ophthalmology EPR team to provide a focal point of contact for Ophthalmology EPR system training, functionality use, advice and support in the clinical areas.


Facilitate and encourage the appropriate use of Ophthalmology EPR system championing the need for safe and reliable healthcare in an open, just and fair culture in order to achieve high standards of patient safety.


Need to balance and manage the complex and multiple training requirements in order to provide a robust learning environment that meets the organisational needs.


Be responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of Ophthalmology training materials and resources for the delivery of specialist training, during the pilot phase and subsequent roll out.

Participate in in local acceptance testing.


Key deliverables include:

To facilitate and support the training of staff who will be required to use the Ophthalmology EPR System by designing and delivering appropriate training materials and using training methods which have been underpinned by the To Be processes documentation.

To support the rest of the implementation programme thereafter.

Main


Responsibilities:


Deliver high quality training courses on Ophthalmology EPR System to a wide spectrum of staff with a diverse range of IT awareness, in a professional and consistent manner and ensure that a critical mass of staff are trained to the required level in the use of Ophthalmology EPR Systems.

Support the development of 'Super Users' in each service.

Develop, maintain, update and version control training related documentation where required.

Organise training facilities, co-ordinate staff attendance and materials prior to courses.

Plan, arrange and execute training sessions.

Analyse queries and questions from Ophthalmology EPR System users and translate this into best practice.

Articulate various complex functional use of Ophthalmology EPR System in a manner which can easily be interpreted by clinicians

Provide support during the implementation, including floor walking, user support and out of Hours.


Act as a focal point of contact for Ophthalmology EPR system training queries, coaching and specific training support for staff.

Facilitate the safe use of training equipment such as laptops, projectors and networking equipment whilst in the training environment.

Analyse queries and evaluate results to resolve and improve Ophthalmology EPR System training delivery.

Evaluate trainee performance and take appropriate action based on results.

Record and maintain records in respect of staff that have been trained in Ophthalmology EPR System.


Advise trainees of Ophthalmology EPR System of related policies including Information Governance rules, system security, patient confidentiality and safe use of IT systems in general.

Communication


Maintain appropriate communication links between clinical teams, service areas, other relevant healthcare staff and IT Technical Implementation and Support Teams.

Challenge existing practices, ensuring progressive solutions, which take into account models of best practice and best use of resources. This may include imparting unwelcome news to staff and stakeholders.
