Key Objectives
Contribute to the effective daily management of the pre-school in accordance with Company policies, all Local Authority and OFSTED regulations and any other relevant legislation
Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children attending the pre-school.

- school at all times.
Responsibilities
Maintain professional working relationships with all external agencies including OFSTED and Plymouth Early Years.
Work with the Manager and other pre-school staff to formulate long, medium and short term sessional curriculum plans, which take into account the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Maintain accurate and up to date records for all children including attendance registers, accident records, medical cards and emergency contact details.
Implement systems of observations and record keeping so that children's progress and achievements are effectively and regularly assessed.
Liaise with all parents/carers informing them of pre-school policies, arrange and attend open days and regular parents meetings.
Help set up the playrooms for the daily programme and help tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
Keep completely confidential any information regarding children and their families, or staff which is acquired as part of the job.
To keep up to date with current good practice.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the chair of the Manager, in accordance with pre-school business plan/objectives.
Skills, aptitude, knowledge and experience
Recent experience of caring for, or working with children.
Enthusiasm for working with young children.
An interest in the care, learning and development of young children.
A commitment to the provision of high quality childcare.
A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities.
Ability to work independently using own initiative.
An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Personal qualities
Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills.
Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues, advisors and parents/carers.
Good written, verbal and non-verbal communication.
Patience, punctuality, reliability and trustworthiness.
A positive approach to inclusive practice, with children and colleagues.
Proactive and positive team player, able to work constructively as part of a team to understand roles and responsibilities within the setting and own position within these.
Qualifications
A positive approach to gaining further qualifications, and continuous professional development.
Some understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace.
Completion of a full and relevant Early Years and Childcare qualification at Level 3 as a minimum

Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary:
£10.42-£10.53 per hour
