Description
The Medical Education Administration Assistant is an essential part of the Medical Education team at Northampton General Hospital. The post holder will work closely with, and provide administrative support to, the medical education team. Working to tight deadlines and responsive to the needs and priorities of the department.


This role provides vital support to the wider Medical Education team and the postholder will possess passion and drive to help the Medical Education Department to develop and excel, providing high standards of customer service to service users within Cripps Postgraduate Medical Education Centre and demonstrating excellent organisation and timekeeping skills.


The post holder will provide cover for the Cripps Postgraduate Medical Education Centre (Cripps PGMC) reception desk during core hours, welcoming centre users, guiding them to their booked rooms and ensuring they have access to relevant IT equipment and teaching aids, acting as a representative of the department.

They will work closely with, and provide administrative support to, the medical education team, working to tight deadlines and responsive to the needs and priorities of the Medical Education Department


The post holder will:
Undertake general administrative duties


Be responsible for the Cripps PGMC room bookings, under the distant supervision of the Medical Education Manager/Deputy Medical Education Manager.

Escalating any concerns or issues in a timely manner

Be responsible for room set up for sessions, ensuring rooms are prepared in line with the booking requirements

Set up and troubleshoot AV presentation aids for teaching sessions as required, training will be provided for this.


Monitor centre cleanliness and condition, reporting issues to the management team as appropriate, and liaising with estates and domestic support as requested.

Participate in shutting down Cripps PGMC at the end of the day, ensuring centre security

Record use of room data on the Cripps PGMC activity database.


Advise consultants, junior doctors and medical students, referring enquiries to the appropriate member of the Medical Education Team as necessary.

Minute taking of meetings at all levels

Effectively and confidently use a wide variety of computer programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) generating graphs, charts, diagrams and reports as and when required

Support the Senior Medical Education Team with general administration tasks as required

Contribute to own personal development ensuring statutory and mandatory training is attended

Produce registers and feedback forms for teaching sessions

Accurately record teaching attendance of medical students and doctors on the relevant databases

Produce feedback summaries from postgraduate and undergraduate teaching sessions for the Consultant, Junior Doctors and other healthcare professionals including calculating percentage response rates

Assist the Education coordinators in delivery of undergraduate and post graduate education administration

Be willing to work outside of core hours at junior doctor inductions and other times, given reasonable notice
