About the Team


The GBRTT Passenger Revenue team brings together a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds from across the industry, including Owning Groups, Train Operating Companies (TOCs), Transport for London (TfL), Network Rail and consultancies.

The successful team provides expertise in revenue strategy, analysis and forecasting as well as insights, marketing, and brand.

We are playing an increasingly proactive role in driving short-term revenue and planning for long-term revenue growth, enabling GBR to deliver a financially sustainable railway.


The Analysis team works on a diverse set of high-profile analytical and economic projects, including the evaluation of pricing changes and other revenue growth initiatives.

Recent projects include the econometric evaluation of the National Marketing Campaigns and the March 2023 fares setting rounds, with the findings of this work feeding directly into future marketing and pricing strategies.

The team is also responsible for the regular, industry wide passenger revenue reporting.


The Job


This is an exciting opportunity to direct a team focused on passenger revenue reporting and analysis, to develop and improve opportunities for profit and sustainable revenue growth.

Working on cross-industry initiatives, you'll build upon positive relationships, collaborating with key Industry Partners to drive revenue recovery and amplify the collective industry-wide impact.


As an industry authority in analysis, you'll lead a diverse team of revenue experts, working alongside Industry Partners and Data Teams to implement advanced data analysis techniques.

Additionally, you'll draw on industry standard processes for automating and standardising reporting formats to generate a clear understanding of the impact of revenue-generating on long-term industry plans.

You'll champion the continuing need to drive recovery of revenue within Government, Network Rail and Industry Partners so that it remains a key focus area and support the more general drive to become a more customer and commercially focussed railway


What you'll bring

  • Highcalibre energetic and engaging leader. with experience in leading multidisciplined teams.
  • Significant commercial experience within a transport operator to understand the context and consequences of insights and recommendations.
  • Customerfirst mindset, with substantial knowledge and detailed understanding of customer segmentation and management systems.
  • Strategic thinker with extensive and demonstrable research, analysis and reporting expertise.
  • Demonstrable breadth of knowledge on reporting techniques, processes, best practice and tools, including a strong understanding of data techniques and how to implement them.
  • Experienced and confident to carry authority in discussions with DfT and other industry players.
  • Highly adept, influential collaborative and a persuasive communicator, with an ability to present and articulate complex matters in a simple and effective way to a range of stakeholders, and to gain TOC, RDG DfT and HM Treasury buyin and commitment.
  • Collaborative approach to working with DfT Teams, TOC Commercial Teams, RDG, colleagues at GBRTT and relevant Network Rail functions.
