As a Barclays Associate Banker, you will support and contribute to the growth of one or more client portfolios across UK Corporate Banking.

You will work closely with Bankers and other Associate Bankers to proactively develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.

You will play a crucial role in enabling our journey to become the banker of choice for our clients' Corporate and Investment Banking needs, whilst developing the skills and product knowledge to build a career as a Corporate Banker.

What will you be doing?:


  • Supporting Bankers to proactively develop and maintain new and existing client relationships, assisting in the delivery of great outcomes for our clients
  • Improving and maintaining high Client Satisfaction scores by providing exceptional service
  • Developing a working knowledge of key Corporate Banking products applicable to the industry sector you support
  • Undertaking detailed client meeting preparation and attending meetings with or without a Banker
  • Project managing the deal process, liaising closely with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring servicing activity is directed towards the appropriate contact point and educating clients to use correct servicing channels
  • Demonstrating cautiousness, sound judgment and appropriate and timely escalations in the management of all types of risk applicable to the role

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Awareness of business/ personal customer solutions
  • Knowledge of credit risk processes and policy
  • Be qualified or working towards Professional Study Qualifications eg. IFS
  • Knowledge of control environment and AML risk

In the centre of Spinningfields, Hardman Street is right in the centre of the best of Manchester's professional business network.

A multi divisional space with Corporate, Wealth, Premier and Digital colleagues, the offices include a client suite for meetings for up to 100 people but are equally intimate for smaller meetings.

Set in the heart of the cities gyms, bars, restaurants and shopping, Barclays offices are a real benefit to its 300 staff and an attractive venue for clients.
