Bedford Girls' School has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced pastoral professional to join our Senior Leadership Team as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
This is an ideal role for an individual, who has extensive experience working to support young people across all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, to join an exceptional forward-thinking school which puts the welfare, happiness, and well-being of its students at the heart of its decision making.
We are looking for an empathic, highly motivated team player who is committed to championing safeguarding policies and procedures, in accordance with the guidelines outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
We require an individual who can demonstrate prior experience of working collaboratively in multi-agency scenarios on a wide range of safeguarding and child protection issues.
This a newly created role and the postholder will have the opportunity to introduce innovative solutions to further strengthen the systems we have in place provide support for our students.
Located in the centre of Bedford we are an outstanding girls' independent school comprising 980 students from the age of 7 to 18.
The DSL would work in conjunction with the Deputy Head Pastoral to lead on all issues related to safeguarding and child protection.

attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
