We are currently recruiting for Senior Technical Support Officer to join ourTechnical Support team. The role will see the post holder based out of our Sittingbourne Head Office.


Job Purpose


You are accountable for providing Best in Class Technical Customer Service, understanding all technical aspects of Knauf UK business, the industry sectors and our various competitors.

To assist and support internal and external customers in relation to the wide range of systems we manufacture.

You will be a key figure within the technical service function who provides best in class technical service to the Knauf value chain whilst supporting the development of TSO team and driving forward various technical initiatives.


Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Support and supervise TSO team members in an effective and productive manner
  • Deputise for the TSO Team in the absence of Technical Services Manager
  • Provide best in class technical service to all customers
  • First point of contact for escalated queries from customers, internal and external and the TSO team
  • Resolve customer complaints as required
  • Prioritise and allocate work based on fine balance between demand and available resources
  • Assist and control the maintenance and use of Puzzel / autocad / VTD / Salesforce
  • Actively support our colleagues in all teams
  • Lead or support continuous improvements within the department working on projects alongside their own daily tasks.
  • Continuous Professional Development (for team and self) ASFP 1 etc
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all product and system enquiries whilst understanding the _why _behind the questions in order to offer the full range of support available
  • To provide advice and technical input on different design and site items such as drawing/details, design parameters, specifications, general design, theoretical design so that the most suitable solution(s) may be found to these design areas and correct systems recommended for use
  • To research and keep up to date on relevant standards, regulations, and industry trends/changes
  • Maintain and update accurate records of our technical drawings, bulletins, substantiation reports, test data amongst other things via Virtual Technical Database
  • Utilising various software platforms for detail design/drafting, Uvalue calculations, condensation risk analysis, mechanical loading assessments, etc.
  • You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Contribute to Knauf's sustainability strategy of People, Planet, Prosperity.
  • Anything else commensurate to complete your role

Requirements:


  • HND/HNC, or equivalent, in related construction or engineering field or relevant industry experience
  • Ability to lead, develop and support colleagues
  • Understanding of products, systems and building regulations
  • Proven experience in a direct customer support role
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Understanding of physical products/systems characteristics [mechanical, thermal, practical, etc.]
  • IT literate in Windows OS, MS Office package [Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.] and Internet
  • Structured problem evaluation and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and own initiative
  • Drive for continuous improvement in skills and knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
