The Role - Transport Planner:
H&M Distribution Limited are actively looking for a Transport Planner to join their friendly team within our Newton-le-Willows Depot. Offering a competitive salary, personal and professional growth possibilities, and a comprehensive benefits and incentivespackage.
As Transport Planner you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operation of the Transport Desk ensuring its efficient, safe, and legally compliant.
It is essential for this position you hold transport industry experience, have excellent communication skills with effective interpersonal skills as well as the capacity to operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities - Transport Planner:
- Managing the daily route planning process and transport operations to ensure that collections and deliveries are successfully completed and that routes are commercially beneficial
- First point of contact for all drivers
- Support and assist in the planning and tracking the fleet general activity.
- Continually reviewing plans to ensure they are efficient and costeffective
- Working closely with different departments and gaining their knowledge in order to maintain an effective and seamless operation
- Managing accurate ETA's and daily POD clearance ensuring any repeated issues are escalated to the depot Manager
- Ensuring all runs are issued and drivers depart in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of the Health, Safety and Quality Management, in order to confidentially address noncompliance and create a positive workplace culture.
- Responsibility for ensuring drivers legal compliance is adhered to on drivers' hours, defect reporting and tachograph rules.
- Support and assist depot manager and warehouse manager in performing delegated tasks to a high standard.

- Experience within a transport industry environment
- Excellent communication skills

- Good geographical knowledge of the UK
