Salary:
Up to £36,000+ (depending on experience and qualifications)


What you'll be doing:


  • Provide competent and comprehensive SHE advice to Line Leaders, enabling them to effectively manage SHE within their area(s) of responsibility
  • Conduct appropriate levels of SHE assurance activities in support the effective deployment of the SHE management system ensuring it continues to meet the requirements of ISO45001 and ISO1400
  • Support Line Leaders in the effective management and control of significant SHE risks within their area(s) of responsibility
  • Support the implementation of SHE improvement programmes
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations of accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and lessons learned to prevent reoccurrence
  • Monitor the effectiveness of key risk controls and SHE performance indicators reporting on level of compliance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • NEBOSH General Certificate but willing to work towards NEBOSH diploma/degree in Health & Safety
  • Proven and demonstrable ability to assess and manage significant SHE risks
  • Experience in conducting SHE assurance activities
Desirable

  • Previous experience within an engineering/construction/manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in producing SHE metrics/reports

The SHE Advisor role:


As a SHE Advisor, you will be ensuring the business complies with the Company SHE Policy and all relevant SHE regulatory requirements.

This will include working in cross discipline teams across the Naval Ships sites to deliver specified packages of work/ improvement projects.

The role will support Line Leaders in their deployment of the Safety, Health and Environmental policy, management systems and objectives for their area(s) of responsibility.

The role may involve an element of shift work or travel to other sites.
