Job description:

The Head of Contract Management Team will typically be responsible for a contract worth at least £700m in value and will lead a team of 10 people

The Head of Contract Management Team reports operationally to the Project Control Manager. The Head of Contract Management Team is part of the Edvance UK Extended Lead Team.
- **This role is based in Bristol (Aztec West)**:

  • For this role we are offering a salary of £70,000
  • £100,000 per annum, plus benefits:

  • 37.5 working hours per week


In the frame of the SZC project, a complex contract with very challenging contractual mechanisms will be in place at the Final Investment Decision date (which is forecasted in Q The Head of Contract Management Team is responsible for the management of all contractual matters related to the contract of the project with the client and co-contractors (if any), and for the overall coordination and management of matters related to the contracts.

The contract is a bespoke agreement, mainly based on NEC principles.

This is done in close collaboration with Legal Department and with the support of the project team. The objective in performing this role is to protect, and where possible improve, the financial performance of the project.


Main Activities:

Key responsibilities of a Head of Contract Management Team include, but are not limited to:

  • To bring their support to finalise the negotiation of the post-FID contract
  • To develop and deliver a commercial/contract strategy and its subsequent delivery
  • To be the interface with the client for contractual related topics
  • To develop the processes to manage the different contractual events defined in the contract
  • To develop the training sessions to spread the "contract culture" to all the stakeholders involved in the SZC project within Edvance and in the EDF entities contributing to the Edvance scope
  • To build, organize and manage the team needed to manage the goals of the Contract Management team
  • To manage stakeholder engagement for relevant area

Required Skills:

At least 15 years of professional experience in Project Management, in particular in Contract Management on complex and multicultural industrial and infrastructure projects (energy, construction, transportation or defence industry), with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies

  • Knowledge of risk and claims management
  • Experience in management
  • Educated to degree level
  • Senior stakeholder management
  • A proven track record of building teams and developing contractual processes
  • Specific knowledge of UK law and its impact upon the contractual and commercial functions
