About the Role
The Sale Coordinator plays a crucial role within the expert department, providing essential support to the Specialists in ensuring the successful execution of auctions and the day-to-day operations of the department.

About the Department
The Bonhams House sales, Private & Iconic Collections department conducts approximately six sales annually, both live and online, in our London and Edinburgh salerooms. With a stellar track record, the department has handled a wide array of collections, including those from Scottish castles, English stately homes, and renowned collectors like Sir Michael Caine, Sir Roger Moore, and Sir Terence Conran. Notably, we have recently managed the sale of set decorations and costumes from the acclaimed series The Crown. The department is primarily located in our New Bond Street Saleroom, but the role will also involve work in our Montpelier Saleroom and Oxfordshire warehouse.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Utilize Auctioneer 3, Bonhams' custom Auction Management System, as the department's proficient user and primary business tool.
  • Manage clients and their assets throughout the sale process, handling property receipt, creating consignment contracts, managing payments, and maintaining client records.
  • Act as the main point of contact for various stakeholders, liaising with clients, restorers, suppliers, and escalating matters to Specialists as needed.
  • Coordinate the movement of property during the sale period, collaborating with regional offices, Shipping, Operations & Photography teams to ensure smooth and compliant stock transfers.
  • Assist clients with post-sale inquiries, manage payments, and arrange shipping quotes for purchased and unsold lots in collaboration with Client Services, Operations, and Shipping departments.
  • Support the Department by providing valuations, condition reports, and photography as required, as well as aiding in day-to-day auction activities, client inquiries, bidding, event management, and social media management.
