We are recruiting a Transport Supervisor working on nights.

This position will help facilitate an efficient and legally compliant transport department, meeting the needs of the business in a cost efficient and sustainable way.

You will provide outstanding and professional service at all times.

Duties and responsibilities

• To supervise the entire transport night shift operation. To ensure service levels and key performance indicators are routinely maintained.
• The planning of the fleet will be carried out by the day planners, but you will be expected to make changes in the result of cancellation of loads, vehicle breakdowns and driver sickness
• Trailer checks to be carried out every shift, obtain empty trailers for next day and match loaded trailers with customer paperwork and Mandata traffic pad
• Build and maintain strong relationship with customers
• Ensure all legal requirements are met including drivers hours and tachograph requirements including drivers signing off infringements
• Security checks of premises in patrol vehicle
• Oversee SNAP bookings
• Make sure the yard stays tidy
• Downloading of tachograph in vehicles on a monthly basis
• Operate the computer traffic system ensuring the screen is kept up to date at all times
• Completion of paperwork and driver bags ready for drivers next morning
• Communicate any problems, issues or queries on a handover sheet
• Adhering to all Health and Safety standards
• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department

Person specification:

• Experience of working in a Traffic office
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to work as part of team remaining calm under pressure
• Organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisation, planning and decisionmaking skills
• Personal and positive drive with a lifelong learner attitude
• Experience of working in a fastpaced environment, managing multiple tasks
• Knowledge of office software and general computer systems

Monday to Thursday 6pm until 6am

Holidays 22.5 days including bank holidays.


Salary:
£26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year


Ability to commute/relocate:

• Rotherham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
