The role will include but not be limited to;

  • Assisting the Fleet Groups and the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Department in implementing and maintaining the accreditation of vessels in line with the requirements of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention. Liaising with the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and other industry bodies on tanker related issues, uploading and administering the associated vessel information databases in conjunction with the Fleet Groups.
  • Updating the various Vetting and Vessel Databases to ensure that full compliance is maintained by the Fleet Groups.
  • Assisting Fleet Groups in the preparation and submission of responses and reports to external inspections, e.g., Flag State, Port State, SIRE and CDI.
  • Act as the focal point for completion and submission of vessel screening/ vetting/ commercial questionnaires.
  • Based on each charterers' vetting inspection requirements as well as flag state and port state requirements, monitor and schedule necessary inspections.
  • Assist Fleet Groups to prepare their vetting responses and ensure consistency in standard and quality and, once approved, upload to OCIMF SIRE on their behalf
  • Liaise with key stakeholders for follow up and close out of inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain statistics and trend analysis reports for vetting and port state inspections.
  • Discuss the analysis/trends report; proactively identify and communicate areas of risk with Fleet Operations.
  • Assist in managing issues with charterers/oil majors involving vessel screening, vetting and port state inspections.
  • Assist with post incident management and closeout of any incidents with relevant parties to ensure minimum commercial disruption.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timely submission of data into Q88 and OCIMF database.
  • Maintain an overview of customer and industry crew experience matrices and provide recommendations to the operations staff as required.
  • Assist with team audits including TMSA, ISM Audits as required.
  • Support the Emergency Response Team as directed.
