Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and reliable person with a good general level of education to join the Support Team in the Radiology Department at New Cross Hospital as a team leader.


The main priorities of the role will involve supervising and giving direction to junior staff and supporting the Support Staff Team Leader.

This post combines both clerical duties and patient contact and therefore excellent communication skills are of paramount importance.

Applicants must be prepared to work flexibly including evenings and weekends. You may be required to work extended days and weekends on a rotational basis in the future. Participation in the Bank/Statutory Holiday rota is a requirement of this post

To assist with the day-to-day operational supervision of the defined team within the department.
To communicate effectively with the Support Team Leader to ensure the most efficient service is delivered and maintained.
To assist with ensuring that all staff are fully trained and equipped to undertake their roles.
To produce and monitor the weekly rota, to ensure service areas are covered at all times. Approving staff annual leave in line with rota's and organising appropriate cover throughout the service areas.
To be actively involved in new starter Local Inductions, actively involved with competencies and monitoring progress.

To respond in a professional and sensitive manner when dealing with confidential issues with colleagues e.g., personal matters in or outside work with empathy.

To co-ordinate the rotation of staff throughout the department, ensuring efficient skill mix.

To support the Support Team Leader in ensuring that all Imaging Assistants are fully trained in departmental procedures, including the operation of all computerised systems within the department.

To ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard
