The Medical Assessment Unit is a 28 bed unit; The MAU team work closely with the emergency department to treat a variety of patient's in a fast paced and highly pressured environment.

You will be required to take charge and coordinate the flow of patients throughout the unit and further into the hospital.

While remaining confident in your clinical skills of managing acute patient caseload.


We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic Band 6 Ward Sister with experience in caring for adult patients at East Cheshire NHS Trust.

The post holder will be required to support and work alongside other senior team members ensuring effective clinical skills and knowledge are maintained at all times, acting as a role model demonstrating effective leadership whilst deputising for the Senior Sister as required.

Hours per week: 37.5 & 30 (advert for two posts, one being full-time and the other part-time)


The role of the Band 6 Ward Sister is to support, contribute to and assist the Band 7 Senior Sister in the leadership and the management of the Ward and to take a lead responsibility for the development, monitoring and implementation of high quality, evidence-based clinical care to ensure continuity of service provision and standards are maintained and improved.
