Financial Systems Officer (Financial)

£15.35 per hour

Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Systems Officer (Financial).

  • This is a hybrid role half week in office/half at home We are located in Kensington Town Hall and Westminster City Hall so when in the office it could be either of these locations. To input accurate, timely, and up to date data into our ledger systems.
  • To identify, schedule and monitor reviews for panel decision, attend panels and capture and upload decisions with appropriate authorisation to ensure effective delivery of payments.
  • To provide high quality financial support, administration and advice to all officers and partner organisations.
  • To contribute and assist in the day to day aspects of the Finance Team as directed by the Team or Finance Manager.
  • Accurate timely payments, resolving supplier (and other) queries, and interrogating systems and processes to support these.
  • To undertake the technical and professional functions required in the Finance Team outlined in the description of duties and in accordance with CIPFA guidelines, Council standing orders and financial regulations.

Qualifications:

Essential:
Recent and relevant experience of having worked in a financial environment.


Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience of working as part of a finance team, within a public or private sector organisation.
  • Experience of using core financial systems and other supporting IT
  • A developing understanding of key financial management processes
  • Experience of undertaking work on key financial processes and controls, and ability to monitor and report on these.
  • Able to produce work to agreed deadlines and standards.
  • Able to work as part of a team to support and improve financial processes, controls, or transactions.
  • Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills with colleagues and customers, and able to communicate complicated data sets effectively.
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise work and the ability coordinate work with colleagues.
  • Good understanding of using Excel spreadsheets, and practical experience of using word and other Microsoft Office packages.
  • Able to work with mínimal supervision and proactive in problem solving.
