Residential Child Care Officer

Manchester

Up to £11.90 ph
Homes based in East Manchester, Droylsden.

Supporting within a 6-bed children's residential care home for young people with learning disabilities and autism.

Working for a national organisation that offers career progression and training from day 1


Duties
The duties of a Residential Child Care Officer are wide and varied, dependent on the day and the needs of the young people you will be supporting, typical duties would include:

  • Managing and updating care plans
  • Supporting within a staff team alongside other care staff
  • Support at meal times, bedtimes and during activities
  • Arranging and taking part in activities both in the house and in the community
  • Support at the specialist school the young people attend, working alongside Teachers, OTs, SALTs etc
  • Medication distribution
  • Personal care when needed
  • Ensure all support and care given meets OFSTED and company standards
  • Ensure all support has the aim of creating positive outcomes for each young person and is tailored to their needs

Pay
- £10.90 without your level 3 in children and young people or equivalent
- £11.90 with your level 3 in children and young people or equivalent
- £63 per sleep


Contract

  • Fulltime, permanent contract
  • Mixture of early, late, or long day shifts
- + Sleep-ins

  • 39 hour a week contract

Requirements:


  • Experience offering support or care within a similar environment
  • Experience with learning disabilities and autism
  • Live a commutable distance to Manchester

Job Types:

Salary:
Up to £28,000.00 per year
