We are currently recruiting for Nursing Assistants to work in ward and clinic areas across the trust to support our clinical staff in providing the best possible care for our patients during this challenging time.

Many roles require flexible working including, long days, weekends and nights on a full time basis


It does not matter if you do not have experience of working in a healthcare setting as you may have many other transferable skills that will benefit you in this role.

We will offer training, support and a buddy to support you in your transition to working and succeeding at Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust.

To work supervised under qualified staff and to provide support in the delivery of quality care for patients.

To provide a full range of support functions in a ward/department/ theatre or critical environment.

This will include undertaking personal care duties for patients, clerical duties and reporting patient conditions to qualified staff.


Ensuring the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centered care principles.

  • Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
  • Attend to the activities of daily living needs of patients, under the supervision and direction of a qualified nurse, to ensure that patients receive care appropriate to their needs.
  • To act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.
  • To ensure that patients' receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.
  • Ensuring that all bed areas are prepared to an agreed standard prior to the patient's admission.
  • Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
