WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY


The Ops Lead will form part of a senior product delivery 'team' with other key roles in the business (for example: project manager, product manager, systems engineer), regularly reporting directly to senior management on the status of a product within the operations side of the business, highlighting issues and blockers.


RESPONSIBILITES

  • Ensure operational alignment: crossfunctional operational delivery of a product which meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Lead the practical planning and effective transition of a product from engineering development into operations product delivery, and oversee subsequent scaling activities to meet customer demand
  • Ensure operational alignment for product lifecycle management and change control activities
  • Maintain an understanding of product delivery status from across the operating side of the business, enabling meaningful dialogue with the rest of the senior product delivery team as primary operations representative
  • Collaborate proactively and productively with stakeholders across the operating side of the business, including: sales, finance, procurement, stores, quality, manufacturing, production, field service and engineering
  • Manage interpersonal relationships to effectively align different 'operations' departments and leaders towards a common product delivery vision
  • Ensure blockers and issues are effectively raised and escalated such that they can be addressed without impacting product delivery
  • Coordinate and align product change control tasks as part of the product lifecycle management

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 3rd level qualification, 2:1 or above or equivalent
  • Experience in a demanding production assembly environment
  • Understanding of electromechanical product assembly
  • Experience in new product introduction within a production and/or field service environment
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Experience using a range of planning techniques and tools

DESIRED CRITERIA
The following skills will be valuable but are not essential:

  • Understanding of electromechanical product design
  • Demonstration of leading / organising projects across multiple departments
  • High emotional intelligence
