Venn Group is working with a Local Authority in London to recruit
three Major Works Project Managers
(Building Safety Project Manager, Mechanical and Engineering Project Manager and a Generic Project Manager) to support the delivery of their housing capital programme which aims to deliver the Council's strategic ambitions, with particularemphasis on the delivery of improved social housing, environmental improvements, jobs, and socio-economic development.

Contract length: 3 months initial


Rate:
£400


The role includes:


  • Supporting the Head of Service on project and programme management activities related to any of the projects/programmes that may be ongoing, ensuring they are managed to corporate project management standards
  • Working with other Departments of the Council required to deliver the Council's Housing Capital Programme objectives and to be responsible for the Corporate profile of the Team
  • Representing the Council in strategic partnerships and in the delivery of capital programmes
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of initiatives which cut across the Housing Capital programme and are fundamental to successful delivery including a consistent and proactive internal and external communications strategy
  • Managing the delivery of promotional activities relating to Housing Capital programmes, to increase the regional and national profile of the councils projects
  • Making recommendations to the appropriate decisionmaking forums and negotiating agreements with partners, drawing on legal expertise as required. To prepare and present reports for Senior Managers and Members to facilitate and inform understanding anddecisionmaking
  • Maintaining effective systems, processes and procedures for collecting, analysing and sharing data, enabling more effective decision making and joint working in support of continuous improvements in service planning and delivery
  • Building, establishing and developing key strategic partnerships at a senior level, internally and externally; including but not limited to Programme Boards, Government departments, GLA, TfL, Environment Agency, landowners and developers to maximise andsecure sustainable delivery as appropriate to individual projects

Skills/Required experience

  • A relevant minimum professional qualification e.g. Degree HNC or HND in Building or equivalent through training and experience
  • Experience of managing multiple complex contracts over a number of different locations at the same time.
  • Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team of quantity surveyors, surveyors, Clerks of Work and Resident Liaison Officers, and act as contract administrators.
  • Experience of delivering successful outcomes from procurement and contract administration processes.
  • Evidence of continuing professional/ personal development
