The Vacancy

  • Do you enjoy working with customers to achieve positive outcomes and providing excellent customer service?Are you able to work in a busy and varied environment where you get the opportunity to be creative and innovative?Are you able to respond well to change and challenges?If so, we would like to hear from youWe are looking to recruit a Court Enforcement Officer who will be responsible for contributing to maximising the effective recovery and management of debts to the Council including Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry debts and Benefit overpayments.

The Post holder will be an essential part of the Shared service between North and North East Lincolnshire Councils Debt Management function and will be required to prosecute cases of non-payment in the Magistrates' Court on behalf of either Council.

This is an agile role so the postholder may work from home or from good quality well maintained offices.

However, there will also be a need to travel to other sites/venues both within and outside the Council area.-Previous Debt Management experience is essential.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as the ability to speak and present in public.

Decision making is an essential part of this post and the ability to respond to individual and complex queries from customers and Court staff, look for acceptable solutions to problems which customers may identify and the handling of official complaints.

Ideally you will have the IRRV technician level or an equivalent qualification (or substantial relevant experience) with good oral and written skills with GCSE's at grade 4 (formerly grade C) or above in English and MathsWe offer:
