The key responsibilities of the Buyer role will be:

Source suppliers and services, including tendering, negotiation and onboarding
Place purchase orders, track progress, invoice match, review and resolve discrepancies
Manage subcontract processing and consumable suppliers to meet operational demands
Monitor supplier and contractor performance, performing corrective actions as required
Identify cost saving opportunities and implement improvements
Provide coverage for Purchasing colleagues as required.

To be considered for the role you should:

Have solid experience in a similar purchasing role / environment
Be a real team player, able to balance stakeholder needs and committed to best practice
Be able to build positive, effective relationships with all colleagues and suppliers
Be selfmotivated and proactive, meticulous and detail oriented

Understanding of manufacturing processes would be an advantage

In this role you will benefit from a private pension scheme, non-contractual Business Performance Related Bonus, 23 days' annual leave (rising with service) plus Bank Holidays, a working week of 38 hours over 5 days with an early Friday finish, offering excellent work/life balance.
