MDT coordinators play a vital role ensuring patients with suspected cancer are investigated, diagnosed and treated in a timely manner in accordance with National timeframes.
The post holder will prepare and attend the MDT meetings and record the outcome of each discussion, this outcome will then benefit the post holder's ability to track these patients successfully through their pathway.
This post presents the opportunity to work with a wide variety of professionals and will be based within a friendly and welcoming admin team within cancer services.
Duties will include co-ordination of various meetings, cancer data collection and maintaining an overall view of Cancer waiting times to ensure patients are seen and treated within the National targets and that each patient's pathway is proactively tracked and recorded accurately.
The post holder will attend the MDT meetings and record the outcome of each discussion, this outcome will then enable the post holder's to track these patients successfully through their pathway.

- The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands and workloadTo possess good numeric and IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Strong administration skills including the ability to manage a diverse and changing workload
- Experience of working with cancer waiting time (CWT) would be advantageous and experience of MDT processes is desired but not essential.
Cancer services strive to deliver excellent care to the patients of Gloucestershire and from an admin perspective ensure that care is monitored and recorded accurately.
We have a high functioning team who are responsible for managing their own workload but there is often times where collaborative work is essential.

- Minimum education equivalent GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Minimum of 1 years' experience within a demanding healthcare or IT environment or equivalent job role setting
- Knowledge of current NHS pathways desirable relating to Cancer Wait Times, patient tracking lists/related patient activity data and the Trust access policy
- Knowledge of a range of administrative systems, TrakCare, desirable (or at least a strong desire to learn)
- Knowledge and understanding of other relevant NHS national targets and standards
- An understanding of the issues surrounding data protection
- Knowledge of medical and directorate specialised terminology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Competence in a wide range of IT systems, (ECDL or equivalent standard)
- Ability to deliver to deadlines, work under pressure, manage own time, prioritise workload
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work autonomously in office or home environment
- Good attention to detail with ability to multitask
- Ability to deal with situations tactfully
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiological terms acquired through work based training and experience.
- Responsible for preparing list of patients for discussion at each MDT meeting on Infoflex involving liaising with Consultants, Consultants Secretaries, Pathology Staff to ensure that all appropriate patients are identified and included, extracting, analysing and interpreting patient records and using judgement to translate complex medical information.
- Ensure circulation of list to all members prior to each meeting and are informed of any changes of meeting dates, venues, etc.
- Locate and obtain case notes for each patient on list and return appropriately
- Ensure pathological and radiological materials are available at each MDT meeting
- Attend every meeting, record minutes of the discussion (projected from PC to screen), whilst ensuring meeting runs efficiently. Following meeting, provide the core MDT members with outcomes.
- Ensure attendance at meeting is recorded
- Completion of MDT proforma, track patients identifying potential breaches, recording and reviewing of data as well as maintaining data and evidence folder.
- For designated cancer speciality, ensure cancer waiting time data is collected and recorded, adhere to deadlines, monitor patients' progress through the system.
