The post-holder will work within an innovative mental health team.


Emotional Health and Wellbeing services opening hours supports the needs of the communities in which we work, and therefore there are elements of unsociable hours - this includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.


Locations:
Shropshire Beam ,Wellington office base / home working

Permanent position but with a provisional end date for funding of 31/3/2024

£26,855.58 per annum with progression to £29,840, 37 hours a week. Pro rata for 24 hours £17,419.84


Do you want to support a team who work with children, young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties?


The post holder will support Children and Young People, at the Wellbeing Zone an Emotional Health & Wellbeing service by offering early help support to young people who are experiencing a crisis episode.

As part of the clinically informed youth work workforce of The Children's Society.


The nature of the service means that service users require intensive support to be provided sometimes this is out of hours and weekends.

The service holds no waiting lists and therefore the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.

In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate that you already have:

Skills

  • Experience of management and supervision of staff and volunteers: (following the necessary training and support
  • Computer literate and is able to navigate a data management system (after training is provided)
  • Excellent verbal and written Communication skills, including telephone skills
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with all clients
  • Practicing in a nonjudgement and antidiscriminatory manner
  • Competencies in undertaking risk assessments within scope of practice
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Experience of managing risk of a service and implementing and safe practice standards
  • Experience in collating, understanding and challenging data sets with practice teams.

Work-based Knowledge

  • Knowledge of anxiety and depression presentations in Primary Care and an understanding of evidence based interventions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the issues surrounding socio
- economic factors and mental health.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding legislation, policy and procedures and risks for children, young people and young adults aged 02
  • Able to demonstrate a knowledge of the issues that children, young people and young adults face when accessing mental health services.
