Interim Head of EDI - Top London University


This top UK University is seeking an experienced Interim Head of EDI to lead the integration of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team and the Organization Development (OD) team.

Reporting to the Director or OD & EDI, the role is responsible formanaging the change process and advancing EDI initiatives throughout the university.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director OD/EDI to lead the integration of the EDI and OD functions, whilst maintaining their specialist focus including managing the change process, coordinating team activities, and ensuring seamless operations & service
  • Develop and implement pragmatic EDI strategies and initiatives that align with the university's mission and goals
  • Lead and manage the EDI team, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain partnerships and programs that advance EDI inline with the university's highperformance culture and commercial needs
  • Develop and maintain metrics and evaluation tools to measure the success of EDI initiatives
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant EDI legislation, policies, and procedures

Requirements:


  • Degree educated in a relevant field
  • A proven, confident leader with experience leading EDI initiatives in a pragmatic and commercial way, within a complex environment, able to manage sometime conflicting agendas with compassion and resolve
  • Strong influencing, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, HR, students, and external partners
  • Knowledge of EDI laws, policies, and best practices
  • Ideally a background in L&D or OD
  • Ability to manage change and lead teams through complex transitions
This is a full-time, interim position, with an expected duration of 12 months, possible longer/permanent.

The will be based in London, with a hybrid working model - 2 days in the office and three from home.
