Delighted to be working with our Peterborough based client to recruit for an experienced Information Governance Officer to support the Group's Data Privacy and Information Governance related activities.

They are looking for a suitably qualified individualwith specialist knowledge of Information Governance legislation including Data Protection Act 2018, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You will be regularly advising senior colleagues across the business andwill play a key role in ensuring the Group's compliance with information governance legislation.

You will be a strong communicator & be comfortable dealing with all levels in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourcefuland efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, know how to influence and persuade, be able to manage a busy and varied workload and demonstrate attention to detail ineverything you do.


Key Deliverables:

  • Managing all centrally received requests under the data protection and freedom of information regulations and providing support and advice to others
  • Reviewing and maintaining data protection impact assessments
  • Supporting the Data Protection Officer (DPO) as a key contact, working with senior colleagues and establishing positive relationships with the Data Protection Leads
  • Assist with updating policies, training materials and data sharing agreements
  • Coordinating staff data protection training
  • Maintaining the Group's information governance databases
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation
  • Relevant certification in data privacy
  • An understanding of risk management principles
  • A passion for information governance work
  • A driven individual with a high degree of autonomy
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and planning skills
  • Motivated, energetic, determined and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Confident in interacting with colleagues and following matters through to conclusion
  • Equipped with excellent computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, PowerPoint & Word and the ability to quickly learn new systems you will know how to effectively engage with technology to drive change as well as to organise.
  • A positive and professional cando attitude and willingness to learn

The role will be based in their Peterborough office two days a week and three days a week from home.
