FEVACA is recruiting for a Senior Support Worker that can join our Quality, Assurance, and Compliance team


Overview of the job:


As a Senior Support worker, you are a flexible peripatetic worker you will be employed to work across all FEVACA services.

You will be key in supporting the service and teams with inductions, training, and completing auditing and action plans to develop the service or cover for existing staff annual leave or last-minute sickness.


As a Senior Support Worker will be working as part of a reactive and preventative team, responsible for assessing, targeting, and responding to the practice across the FEVACA services.


Senior Support Worker will have a flexible rota that is devised every two weeks with key points of intervention and support when working in FEVACA services; you will be a key point in delivering and up the culture to FEVACA standards during moments of crisis.


The Senior Support Worker's main role is to support service development and complete internal audits and assessments to highlight where improvements are needed this includes information when staff require support and draw upon action plans to work with the team to improve overall standards within the legislative framework and Fevaca policies.

The role will involve a combination of problem-solving, monitoring, and advisory support to the field team; you will be bringing your experience, knowledge, and expertise to improve practice, and performance and have an active role in auditing, monitoring, and staff retention.


Person Specification:


  • All applicants must be able to commit to 39 hours and up to 2 sleepins per week
  • The usual shift is:
Supported Accommodation: 9 am - 10 pm & sleep in (up to 2 sleep per week)
Children Home: 8 am-11 pm & sleep in (up to 2 nights of sleep per week)

  • Community services: hours are in line with client requirements


Senior Support Workers must be able to commit to traveling between different projects depending on the needs of the business and commit to a two-weekly rota.

Essential:


  • Positive and non Judgemental value base.

  • Working and experience in the area relevant to children's social care.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Human Resources, and Data protection legislative frameworks.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car (driving to various projects across counties will be a requirement).
  • Be flexible and willing to work on a two weeks rota plan.
  • Complete direct work and shifts including sleep in's, weekends, and bank holidays as allocated by the QAC manager and in line with service needs this includes responding to lastminute absences and sickness.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act, Leaving Care Act, and subsequent guidance.
  • Ability to oversee and contribute to the management of the households.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and adults.
  • Good standard of written and verbal English, including report writing and assessment skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation in the field of care in which you are working.
  • Ability to complete audits and monitoring of the services.
  • Ability to supervise and lead other practitioners within the project.
