What you'll be doing
As a
Foreman, you'll enjoy plenty of influence and succeed here if you:

  • Take ownership of works from start to finish
  • including handover
  • Supervise works and a team of foremen, gangers, plant operators, subcontractors and a direct labour force making sure they have all the information they need
  • Focus on Zero Harm, identify potential hazards and implement controls
  • Help to produce work package plans, risk assessments and task briefing sheets
  • Provide recommendations for temporary works solutions
  • Carry out inspections to keep progress on track and quality levels at their highest
  • Make sure that all plant and small tools are well maintained
  • Assess material wastage allowances and make improvements if needed

Who we're looking for
As a lead figure on some of the largest construction projects in the UK, you'll need to:

  • Stay up to date on changes in relevant legislation such as health and safety
  • Bring experience of delivering engaging toolbox talks, allocating resource, monitoring key programme dates and managing the works of direct labour and subcontractors
  • Understand contract documents, construction tolerances and test plans
  • Think commercially and understand the terms and outputs of subcontractors
  • Be willing to work some unsociable hours to keep everything moving forwards.
