We have an opportunity for a
Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) Assistant to join our team based in the Horley office but who will be willing to travel to our field teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of HSQE documentation (method statements, working instructions, safe systems of work etc)
- Responsible for the administration and maintenance of Sentinel, Network Rail's system for tracking and managing the certification and competencies of individuals working in various roles within the railway industry
- Collaborate with the HSQE Manager to conduct internal audits and inspections
- Support HSQE derived initiatives
- Assist the Company in fulfilling its responsibilities as a 'Principal Contractor' duty holder under CDM Regulations.
- Contribute to the maintenance of Company Accreditations
- Identify and manage risk assessments, competence requirements, training, PPE needs, and safety concerns associated with assigned contracts
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in general commercial and business practices
- Strong computer skills, including a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Exceptional communication abilities
- Advanced administrative capabilities
- Selfmotivated, with a proactive and enthusiastic 'cando' attitude
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Problemsolving aptitude
- Proficient troubleshooting skills
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Successfully meet Network Rail Medical and Drug & Alcohol testing standards
- Attain Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification
- Possess a valid, clean UK full driving license
- Safety certifications are beneficial but a willingness and drive to attain NEBOSH qualification in the future, at a mutually convenient time, is required. Full support will be provided.
