Do you have a positive approach with a can-do attitude? Experience in transport planning or interested to learn about transport & driver compliance? If so, we've got just the role for you.

Following a colleague relocating within the business, we are currentlylooking for a Transport Planner to join our team.


Based at our Peterborough site, you'll be working any 5 from 7 days a week, as part of a close-knit team, prioritising workloads and dealing with a demanding transport plan for both national and international deliveries.

Within the role you'll be workingtowards building a good knowledge of our operational processes and compliance surrounding trucks and drivers.

Become a team player, with the willingness to resolve complex vehicle movement and logístical issues where required, supporting others, whilst conductingroot cause analysis and driving forward improvement plans.


You will be liaising with multiple customers, DFDS sites and delivery points, so we'll need you to forge relationships quickly with our planning team, drivers, subcontractors, and stakeholders alike.

This will enable you to be fully versed with the day-to-dayrequirements for all trucks and drivers, and ensure you are maximising revenue where possible.

Naturally, excellent communication skills are a prerequisite, ensuring delivery issues are fully communicated to operational teams and resolved in a timely manner.

This will help ensure you can raise vehicle utilisation, continually delivering towards KPI targets and provide recommendations for continuous improvement, gaining excellent geographical knowledge along the way.


Previous experience of vehicle route planning would be advantageous along with knowledge of Driver hours, Tachographs & the Working Time Directive legislation.
