We are a care provider based in Hertfordshire, recruiting for
Children's SEND Support Worker with experience of supporting young people with complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health and other associated conditions.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of the young people we support, their families and their interactions with the local community.


The Role


You will be supporting young people who require one-to-one support, to develop a range of essential life skills in community settings in Watford and surrounding areas.


To fully support the daily needs of our young people and to deliver the highest quality of 1:1 care to either at home or in a community setting.

You will be responsible for their safety according to the young person's risk assessment and support plan.


We are looking for people with a supportive, energetic and fun nature and a high level of patience and emotional resilience.

You will have a non-judgemental attitude and the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with individuals, alongside excellent listening skills, to support each individual to get the best experience when attending our sessions.


Some of your duties would include:

Supporting service users in the community such as taking them to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips out either by public transport or car.

Undertaking household tasks.


Supporting young people's interests, such as visiting local community attractions to build confidence, communication and social skills to support future independence whilst giving parents and carers a break from their caring responsibilities.


Experience/Training
Ability to support young people in the community.

Applicants must have (or be working towards) a relevant Health and Social Care or Childcare qualification (e.g. Health and Social Care Level 2/3).

At least 6 months UK-based experience working alongside children and young people.


Although additional training will be given, you will need to provide evidence of relevant prior training to support your experience.

Have Right to Work in the UK

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.


Licence/Certification
Driving licence and access to a vehicle.

£12.05 per hour
