Shopfitter / Site Supervisor - Leicestershire - up to £50k

My client is a leading manufacturer and project-based shop fitting and fit-out company operating across the whole of the UK.

Dealing with major retailer, they are actively seeking an experience shop fitter / working site supervisor to join their team.


The role:

  • On site, you will be working as part of a small team, typically two to three operatives, planning, organising, settingout and fixing mainly modular and freestanding fixtures to plans and milestones provided.

Setting milestones in cooperation with the Project Manager and follow-up, reporting and adjusting as the project progresses towards completion, ensuring a quality and timely handover to the agreed programme.

The projects are UK wide, and when required, in mainland Europe. You will be used to working away from home but preferably be midlands based.
Typical jobs are 1- 2 weeks duration for a 2 man team (including the working supervisor). They also have a fair number of jobs that are 2-3 days only.

Weekend work is involved, as is the occasional nightshift but they always try to arrange it so that you canhave 1 out of 3 weekends off (if you want it).


Requirements:

  • You will preferably come from a joinery background and have experience in the shop fitting industry and the ability to perform at the highest level.
Experience / knowledge in other areas of construction is also desirable.

You will be able to read and follow layout drawings and set-out the site to comply, including planning and operating the site safely to the highest CDM / H&S standards.

They expect you to be energetic, organised, clued-up on using very latest technology including smart-phone apps for tracking / documenting site events.

Personal circumstances that allow you to "work-away", including weekends when required. Our project duration is typically 1-2 weeks but does vary from a few days upwards. For longer durations we'll organise some weekends off to suit.
Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and client's representatives.
A valid CSCS qualification, SMSTS certificate and First Aid qualifications are required. Asbestos awareness and working-at-height training certs beneficial (or you'll have to take them when you join).
Have you own set of personal hand-tools. Any specialist tools required will be provided/hired-in by the company.
