About the role:

The Senior Internal Control Officer
will primarily support the Risk and Internal Control Manager

  • Energy Supply UK with delivering a robust internal control environment in all areas of the business with an operational focus for Procurement and Third Party Intermediary (TPI) Audit.
ENGIE are recruiting for a
Senior Internal Control Officer based
in Leeds.
  • This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To ensure that Energy Supply UK maintains a robust Procurement function and compliance with all Group and Local Procurement policies.
  • To ensure that Energy Supply UK completes the annual INternal COntrol & Management Efficiency (INCOME) submission in a timely manner and that any related action plans are monitored and reported at an appropriate level of management.
  • To ensure that Energy Supply UK maintains a strong Internal Control environment.
  • To carry out adhoc Independent Reviews on internal processes and to recommend improvements to operating controls.
  • To provide additional assurance around the Starters, Leavers & Movers Process (SLAM).
  • To ensure that Energy Supply UK maintains a robust TPI Audit function.
  • To provide additional assurance around the sales activities of our most important TPIs.
  • To ensure that Energy Supply UK has a resilient Business Continuity Plan which is tested on at least an annual basis.
  • To support the continuous improvement relating to key ISO certifications (2015:9001 & 2015:14001) in particular the internal audit schedule and document/policy review process.

Key Requirements:


  • Experience within a finance function
  • Experience within a quality assurance function
  • Degree level qualification in a related discipline (Maths, Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Management)
  • Experience of using procurement software (FocalPoint)
  • Able to confidently use Microsoft Office
  • Approachable with the ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving
  • An awareness of the UK Energy Market and Supplier Market
  • Experience of managing a small team
