About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the Parkes group (under Professor Eileen Parkes) in the Department of Oncology.

The post holder will support studies of the tumour microenvironment using in vivo and in vitro techniques. You will work within the group supporting projects on the tumour microenvironment, with their own project on tumor-immune co-evolution

This role is offered on a full-time basis and is fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance.


About you


You will hold a BSc degree along with relevant experience, demonstrating expertise in in vitro techniques such as cell culture, co-culture, FACS, and digital pathology.

Your bioinformatics skills, particularly in using R for genomic and/or transcriptomic data analysis, will set you apart. Possessing sufficient specialist knowledge in your discipline, you'll seamlessly contribute to established research programs.

Your ability to independently manage research and administrative activities, coupled with excellent communication skills for writing, presenting, and representing the research group, is essential.

Your experience in adapting protocols and selecting appropriate experimental methodologies completes the profile we're looking for.
