An exciting opportunity has arisen within the corporate Practice Development & Education Team to lead the development of our learning technology systems to support the online delivery of a wide range of education and training programmes provided by the team.

Online learning has become a critical element of all our education programmes.

We have successfully introduced this role into our team during the the last year and are now looking to further embed and develop the role on a permanent basis.

The Learning Technology Lead will provide a key strategic and leadership role based within the Practice Develoment and Education Team, working across the corporate and clinical divisions providing expert knowledge and support to enable the alignment of learning technology and associated data with developments in education and training provision


The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

  • Analyse and identify learning technology needs in order to design and implement learning technologies and interactive multimedia resources most suited to the curriculum of the team's education and training programmes.
  • Maintain and further develop elearning resources in collaboration with colleagues. This could include multimedia editing and use of rapid authoring tools
  • Provide advice, guidance, demonstrations and training to education and administrative staff on the use of the virtual learning environment (VLE) and associated technologies in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Act as an expert resource to support academic and administrative staff with a range of learning technologies.
  • Promote the use of the trusts elearning platforms, and other appropriate technologies, to all staff involved in teaching and learning.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of adopted learning technologies or resources, bearing in mind both technical and educational aspects. This would include report writing and data analysis
  • Keep abreast of developments in technology enhanced learning within the NHS and beyond in order to improve and enhance learning technologies support provision
  • Work collaboratively with other eLearning Technologists, staff, Information and Communication Technology, (ICT) and other colleagues who support teaching via elearning methods
