Description
The Professional Oversight Team is part of the Supervision Division, which encompasses the FRC's monitoring and oversight functions. We are responsible for the Third Country Audit regime in the UK and the registration of overseas audit firms.

We are also responsible for the independent oversight of the regulation of auditors by the supervisory and qualifying bodies and the non-statutory oversight of the regulation of accountants by the accountancy professional bodies and the non-statutory regulation of actuaries by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in the UK.


Responsibilities:


The role reports directly to the Project Manager - Third country audit and involves supporting the FRC's Professional Oversight Team to register audit firms from third countries.

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the TCA work (in particular, Auditor Registration and renewal), providing administration, research and analysis support.


Specifically, the role will involve the following:

  • Working alongside the TCA Project Manager and other POT team members, providing administrative, analysis and research support.
  • Managing the TCA databases; providing administrative support to the team.
  • Managing the administration aspects of the annual registration renewal process.
  • Assisting in collating information for the Senior Project Manager, the POT team and the Supervision Division.
  • Building constructive and professional relationships within the wider FRC, as well as supporting relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Ability to organise and plan own work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Excel and Word).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The role is based in our Central London Office.

The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team's activities and also provide cover within the FRC as necessary.

From 6 September 2021 the FRC has been operating a hybrid working arrangement.

This means full-time employees will spend at least four-days per fortnight in the office, pro rata for part time employees, and any arrangement will be agreed between the employee and the line manager.
