Overview:
Due to the increase in collaborative planning with our top customers, the Customer Operations Planner role has arisen. This role is intended to bridge the gap between the Birds Eye and customer Supply Chain Teams.
This role is to build a collaborative relationship with the customer ensuring aligned forecasts and is a point of contact for any supply related issues.
They will lead the supply chain efficiency agenda taking ownership of projects.Responsibilities:
- Complete ownership of the Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) Process.
- To align Birds Eye (all brands) and customer forecasts through analysis and manipulation of both companies ordering and reporting systems. Provide a link between sales and planning from both ends of the Supply Chain whilst continuing to develop the relationship between the two.
- Attend and lead key customer supply chain (and trade meetings when appropriate) as required in customer Head Offices and be the first point in forging great relationships with the wider customer teams
- Be the 1st point of contact for Birds Eye and customer SC for any Planning or Distribution related matters.
Daily Order Check
Daily check of orders/bookings/allocations
Key Internal Reporting
- Including Week To Date Sales reports and business updates on base and promotional volume movements. Constant interrogation of stock holding and the influence it places on the forward forecast for these accounts
- Help the Birds Eye Sales team with their financial call for the week/month/quarter.
SKU level forecasting in Birds Eye & Customer system
- Detailed forecasting by SKU including; base rates, promotional forecasts, seasonality and cannibalisation. Birds Eye and customer systems should reflect the latest view by proactive communication to Customer Supply Chain teams.
- Identify gaps in store availability, analyse root causes and produce plans to rectify these gaps in a timely manner.

- Forecast Bias: +/3%
Service Level: 98.5%
- Drive the CPFR Process with customer
Key meeting attendance and input
- Attendance and key input for key S&OP meetings including; week 3 demand review with BE planning teams, week 2 sales calendar alignment with Birds Eye sales team and Pre-Demand to summarise any volume changes and performance issues.
- Monthly/Quarterly review with customer supply chain team.
Leading Customer based projects
Leading collaborative projects. Current upcoming project includes Direct Deliveries from factory to customer depots.
Liaising with Commercial and managing expectations
Understanding how any supply chain actions affect both companies' sales teams and managing the communication to both sides.
Key Period Planning
Including Christmas/new year, Easter, summer and range changes.
Qualifications:
Essential
- Educated to degree level
- FMCG or Supply Chain
- Understanding of FMCG (SC would be a bonus)
- Relationship Management
- Proactive
- Ambitious
- Selfstarter able to motivate self and work in a pressurized environment without direct supervision
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
Desirable
- Customer facing FMCG experience would be an advantage
- S&OP Knowledge
- SAP/BI Knowledge
- Proof of ability to develop and maintain key relationships
