Children's Home Residential Support Worker
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and independent residential children's home in Torbay.

We support young people who present with a variety of complex needs between the ages of years.

The home is registered to provide care and accommodation for young people who suffer from a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Lighthouse Southwest is looking for an empathetic, professional and dedicated individual.


Though experience is desirable, it is not essential Our team is committed to supporting you to achieve your full potential. Not only is a full package of training available but you will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team.


As a member of our dedicated residential care team you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and empowering them in their daily lives.

You will play an integral role in encouraging life skills and helping young people to develop their social skills through play and education, while having fun.

A good sense of humour with the ability to bring a creative approach to practice and develop relationships with young people as well as provide a safe and caring environment for them is crucial.


Essential

  • Transferable skills that can support your work with children and young people.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns, which will include evenings, sleep shifts and weekends. Must be able to work weekends and sleepins.
Shift patterns;
Sleep-in shifts 5pm - 9am

Evening shifts 5pm - 10pm

Daytime shifts 9am -6pm


Desirable

  • Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent Diploma Level 3 or above.
  • Minimum one year's experience in a residential childcare setting.

We are committed to the safeguarding of our young people and all applicants will be vigorously checked prior to any post being offered. All applicants are required to complete an enhanced DBS check as well as provide two references and two forms of identification.

Part-time hours: per week


Salary:
£10.42-£11.00 per hour
