Software Development Lead/Manager

  • Location: Hybrid but Must be commutable 12 times a week to Tunbridge Wells
  • Salary: Salary up to £75k
  • Hours: 37.5 hour working week. Monday to Friday


Your purpose will be to lead and manage one of their software engineering teams to deliver new capabilities and improvements to the solution and outcomes to the business.

You will lead the team to solve problems and overcome challenges, whether technicalor process to positively benefit the wider business.

You will manage the team to ensure change is delivered reliably, robustly and in accordance with best practices to the highest standards.


  • Having a technical or process background with a good understanding of modern software development principles, methodologies and agile software development lifecycles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels. Able to converse with both technical and nontechnical team members and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in use of appropriate software tools to manage and support the team, including project tracking software and documentation tools. Handson familiarity with development tools is also advantageous.
  • Experience of working in an enterprise level environment, primarily using the Microsoftbased technology stack and cloud services. We are following a hybrid cloud strategy, leading to a cloud agnostic capability.
  • Awareness and understanding of cloud concepts such as serverless architecture, servicebus / APIs, cloud hosting, containers and microservices is advantageous. Experience of working within a team using agile methodologies, continuous deployment processes,testdriven development and awareness of security considerations (DevSecOps) advantageous.
  • You should have a high attention to detail and good problemsolving skills. You will lead the team with a productcentric and business outcome focus.
  • You will be working within a highly productive and collaborative environment and enjoy delivering great technology and engineering for a great company.
  • Previous experience of the insurance industry is not required but would be advantageous.
