Research Engagement Officer - Cambridge, United Kingdom - GÉANT

About The Role:
We are looking for a Research Engagement Officer to help support users on how best to use GÉANT products or services, providing a one-stop-shop, in partnership with other research and education network service providers, to ensure the solutions being proposed by GÉANT are the right ones and will work successfully.
You will promote the GÉANT and NREN infrastructure and services to research and academic communities worldwide, including, for example, emerging user communities such as the Earth Observation (Copernicus), Bioscience, Arts and Humanities, and e-Infrastructures sectors.
In addition, you will facilitate the use of GÉANT by selected new user communities to test and demonstrate the value of the GÉANT services.
You will prepare and give presentations at meetings and public events, generally within the research and education community, but also in any other context if it would be required.
This is a permanent and full-time role.If the role is filled in our Amsterdam office, it will be offered as a 1-year definite contract, with the possibility of becoming indefinite thereafter.
About You:
To be successful in this role you must be a strategic thinker who can grasp complex scientific ideas and scenarios and communicate them to a vast range of audiences.
You will be educated to at least degree-level in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience and have a good understanding of network and AAI technologies.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in an open and collaborative manner and is able to build trust and maintain trust between diverse groups besides being pro-active and happy to own tasks and processes.

Working Arrangements
We are adopting a flexible-hybrid model which means that employees will work flexibly between a remote and office environment.
Weekly visits to the office are required for most employees to support our values and collaborative culture and enable our teams to deliver great work.
