Responsibilities:


As our Cloud Database Consultant you will provide hands-on technical engineering and ownership of the growing cloud database environment, across multiple providers using Private and Public cloud platforms.

You will work closely with our Product Centre groups as well our Cloud Operations team to help build secure and robust Databases for all Cloud customers.

You'll provide expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of Database solutions and architectures hosting multiple customers. This role can be based remotely form the UK or Ireland.

  • AWS and Azure Database design and implementation.
  • Recommend solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data backup, and recovery specifications.
  • Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommend optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.
  • Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
  • Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.
  • Provide information by answering questions and requests.
  • Support database functions by designing and coding utilities.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking stateoftheart practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Develop standards, policies and procedures as well as best practices documentation.
Qualifications:


  • Database Performance Tuning, Database Security, Promoting Process Improvement, Problem Solving, Presenting Technical Information, Quality Focus, Database Management, Data Maintenance, Operating Systems, Information Security Policies.
  • Proven working experience as a Database administrator.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools.
  • Familiarity with programming languages API.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
