Core Responsibilities:


  • Support the Head of Press and Chief Sustainable Systems Officer in delivering against the team's business plan and budget.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Head of Press who this role reports into and Senior Press Officer as required.
  • Act as the first line of contact for the press office including handling inbound media queries, facilitate media interviews for PRI's global media audience across tier one and trade publications, produce media briefings for spokespeople.
  • Draft written communications materials, including quotes, comments, statements, opeds, and blogs, for a variety of different audiences and outlets.
  • Scan the media landscape for proactive media opportunities for the PRI, including managing a press calendar of media activity.
  • Oversee PRI's media contacts database and press clippings.
  • Closely work with the agencies employed by PRI on media execution.
  • Help profile PRI events in the media including PRI Forums and PRI in Person.
  • Work closely with Leadership Comms and the CEO Office on tactical media engagement for the CEO, including optimising the travel calendar for media interviews.
  • Work closely with Head of APAC comms and local teams on press activity.
  • Be an integral part of PRI's External Affairs team, pitch in on communications activities as needed.

Person Specification:


  • Proven track record in handling media relations, either in an agency or inhouse role
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proactive interest in sustainability and responsible investment issues
  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others & committed to fostering an inclusive working environment
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills and experience of building strong and productive relationships
  • Microsoft Office skills and some experience of using media monitoring platforms
  • Language skills, other than English, are desirable
