Recroot are looking for a Transport Operations Officer to join our client based with Wrexham Council.

This role is starting asap.

To provide office support to Transport Operations Officers who deliver Home to School Transport provision in Wrexham Council.

(Including answering telephones/taking messages and contacting various parties/partner organizations, ad-hoc work tasks updating and maintaining records including excel/word/specialist software systems) 7.

24hr day, worked within an office rota to cover early starts and late finishes (1700)


JOB PURPOSE

To ensure that the County Borough Council's defined passenger transport network of 400 transport contracts, to the value of £4.5m pa, is operated safely and efficiently, within the resources available.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1 To manage the transport commissioning process for the Integrated Transport Unit by reviewing and actioning transport requests from authorised staff in Life Long Learning and Adult Social care. This will involve regular review of the commissioning process to ensure it is robust and well understood, and preparation of reports for Service Level Agreement meetings on trends in transport commissioning.


2 To supervise 130 transport escorts, ensuring an accurate database is maintained, and leading on attendance issues, both on a reactive basis to ensure service continuity, and a proactive basis to manage overall attendance in line with Council policy.

Attend regular meetings with escorts as individuals and in groups to discuss operational issues, particularly relating to health and safety of passengers.


3 To lead on the process for ensuring all council employed escorts and also contracted drivers and escorts possess up to date enhanced CRB clearance.
