An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our Ophthalmology team working on our Winchester site, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The position is full time, however part time will be considered.


Working in a friendly environment you'll carry out a variety of tasks including Ophthalmic imaging procedures such as visual fields, visual acuity assessment and intraocular pressure checks, as well opportunities to assist the clinical team in the delivery of clinics to ensure the medical workforce is free to make clinical decisions on the next steps in the patient's pathway.


The main responsibilities of this role are to assist the multidisciplinary team to provide an efficient and effective ophthalmic service.

This includes supporting outpatient clinics and theatres, as well as performing various ophthalmic investigations. A key element is to assist medical teams in providing gold standard patient care. The role involves meeting and interacting with patients in a friendly and professional manner.


Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) provides hospital services to around 570,000 people living in Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire, and specialist services to patients from all over the country.

We deliver a full range of district hospital services in a variety of locations.

We are looking to expand our Ophthalmic team to support a busy and successful ophthalmic department.

The role would be to work as part of the Ophthalmic Team in the provision of a high-quality specialist care to the department of Ophthalmology.
