Full Time experienced Housekeeper required for beautiful, contemporary county house located in the most stunning location on the East Suffolk Coast.


This is the first time in two decades that the family have had a housekeeping vacancy within their home and this is due to one of their long-term housekeepers leaving to get married.

She has been their housekeeper since 2007.

There is another housekeeper in residence who has been with the family since 2004 and she will remain as part of the team,which also comprises a chef/house manager and a groundsperson.


The house is large and recently built on quite a grand scale, however everything inside is well designed and the rooms, windows etc are all beautifully maintained making cleaning much easier.


This is a live in position and a large fully furnished, warm lodge will be offered, allowing for a short walk across the garden to work each day.

The lodge has a fully fitted kitchen, 55" TV and super speed broadband. It is situated in mature grounds with an abundance of trees and greenery and is very quiet and private.


The family have 3 university aged children, so the house will be busy at times, but very quiet much of the year.


The usual day will start at 06.45 for one person and 9am for the other (when 2 housekeepers are on) and finish 6/7pm(later when the family give occasional dinner parties).

Within these hours there will be a 3 hour break, allowing for time away from the house. There will be periodic weekends required with time off in lieu.

The location lends itself to outdoor activities such as coastal walking, sea swimming, running, cycling etc.


Potentially coming to housekeep and assist the chef in the family's annual holiday on a Scottish Estate for two weeks.

Car driver essential due to the location and for running errands on occasions


The Position:

  • All housework to a high standard
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Bed changing
  • Cooking healthy meals including vegetarian menus ( great cook books to follow)
  • Assisting the chef with other meals and helping plan menus
  • Assisting with entertaining
  • Wardrobe management for the Principals
  • Dealing with specialist fabrics
  • Deep cleans on a rota basis
  • Feeding cats and dogs and walking dogs on occasions
  • Watering plants when principals away

The Person:

  • Reliable, trustworthy, friendly and a great person to have around
  • Polite and well presented
  • A good cook
  • Happy to work with one other housekeeper and chef but at times alone
  • Will have very high standards and a keen eye for the finer detail
  • Able to start November earlier if required)
  • Car driver
  • Non smoker
  • Previous private household experience preferred


As well as the accommodation there will be an attractive salary offered and a discretionary yearly bonus (usually at Christmas).
