Overview:


Reporting to the Regional Training Manager, the Senior Regional Training Officer will provide training activities at all stations within their region as required.

50% - 75% of the time will be allocated to training and the other 25% to perform the below Senior RTO tasks.

This could be adjusted to match the business needs at the time, but your RTM will monitor your assigned tasks and duties.

Training will include delivery of training to employees in a classroom and practical setting for initial and refresher training.

Each Senior Regional Training Officer will also be required to support the Regional Training Manager with additional tasks where necessary.


The Senior Regional Training Officer will provide support the RTO's to ensure local specific requirements are met, and that any delivery is conducted in accordance with Swissport training policy and procedure expectations.

They will complete regular training assessments to ensure standards are maintained.


Responsibilities:


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role in addition to those of an RTO:

  • To conduct training activities as per Regional Training Officer role, set out in the regional training plan in accordance with Swissport policy, process and the UK & Ireland training services roadmap.
  • Deputise for Regional Training Manager where applicable.
  • Ensure absence management procedures for the Regional Training Officers are managed correctly.
  • Conduct annual performance development reviews (PDR) of Regional Training Officers.
  • Complete regular 'onetoone' meetings with Regional Training Officers.
  • Host and/or support RTM with local team meetings.
  • Training Quality / CPD oversight
  • CAA / IAA requirements
  • Coaching, mentoring and management of Regional Training Officers / OJC.
  • Issue training communications.
  • Ensure that all Regional Training Officers and On the Job Coaches (OJC) are compliant with all operating procedures, including station safety rules.
  • Ensure full compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication with both Regional Training Officers and On the Job Coaches
  • Ensure that Regional Training Officers and On the Job Coaches are compliant with safety & quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and quality of training delivery and evaluation.
  • Conduct investigations as required.
  • Ensure overall quality and compliance of technical / developmental training including regular auditing duties.
  • Attend stations training meetings, to ensure the current training plan is shared and executed to achieve the training goals as set by the station and training.
  • Communicate with customers and third parties and ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the training provision.

Qualifications:

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Training compliance (Business, Safety Critical and Other).
  • Training observations conducted for classroom and practical training. Feedback to trainers for continued development.
  • Qualification standards of training community and safeguarding performance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Demonstrable experience in managing, monitoring and evaluating learning and development solutions, across a diverse range of disciplines and delivery methods.
  • Solid demonstratable experience of leading teams in a demanding, fast paced, heavily regulated environment that focuses on service delivery.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to forge excellent working relationships.
  • Welldeveloped organisational, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft / IT skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • UK & Ireland Professional standards and code of practice for training professionals.
  • Level 3 Award in education & training / QQi Level 6 / PTLLS or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Award in health and safety / QQi Level 6 health and safety.
  • Level 2 Award in manual handling / QQi Level 6 manual handling.
  • Level 2 Assessors qualification.
  • Level 3 Award in health and safety.
  • Level 3 Award in manual handling.
  • IQA
  • IOSH Managing safely.
  • Swissport Level 2 Auditor.

  • Security / DfT / IAA Approval for security training delivery.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods (CAT 6 / 8 / 9 / 10 as appropriate).
  • Comprehensive Swissport SOP knowledge*.
