Housing Officer - £29,000 - £31,900 per annum (Salaries vary depending on experiences)


Hours - 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Service - Housing, Horspath, Oxford


What You'll Be Doing:

The Housing team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team. The Housing team focuses on all aspects of tenancy sustainment.

You will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of excellent housing management services to Response tenants.

Some of the core duties include:

  • To provide comprehensive, person centred housing and tenancy management services within a defined area in line with the Response value mission and corporate plan.
  • To provide advice and information to tenants, residents and others on all tenancy matters and income maximisation.
  • Carry out regular inspections which will assist Response to monitor Health and Safety, grounds maintenance, repairs and maintenance and other estate / block services.
  • To liaise with Maintenance Team and report any repairs identified during the visits to the property.
  • To liaise with Response colleagues and others to improve the quality of the environment and ensure tenancy conditions are met.
  • Ensure that preventative actions are taken to avoid tenancy breakdown Enforcing occupancy agreement conditions by managing antisocial behaviour, nuisance and harassment etc., including court action where relevant.
  • Ensuring the accurate records are kept and maintained for reporting and legal purposes.

We provide excellent training on everything else, but we do ask that you have:


  • Have specialised knowledge and experience in housing and estate management.
  • Working knowledge of housing law relating to tenancy agreements, tenancy management including ASB legislation and best practice
  • Good experience and skills of working and communicating well with a range of residents bringing diplomacy, sensitivity and tact to handling difficult situations.
  • Good selfservicing IT skills with sound knowledge of MS Office (word, excel and outlook)
  • Use of a car and a full driving licence is essential.
