We're currently working with an organisation based in Central London
, to recruit for a Head of Business Administration on a full-time permanent contract.

Our client is a national gallery known for their eclectic range of modern and traditional art collections.

The position is due to start immediately and is offering a salary of £50,000 per annum.


Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for a team of four, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, and managing performance at an individual and team level
  • Ensure effective business planning, policy, financial management and administration, through the management of strategic and operational plans in collaboration with Leadership team colleagues
  • Develop, implement and review policy, systems and practices in line with national/international benchmarks, initiatives, legislation and good practice
  • Lead on project management and supporting colleagues with approaches for delivering divisional projects, overseeing divisional budgets to monitor any significant variances and advising colleagues on necessary methods
  • Hold overall responsibility for managing, monitoring and reporting on the income and expenditures for the division, and ensure robust financial management systems and processes are in place
  • Manage the financial reporting cycle across quarterly reforecasts and year end, analysing trends, completing cost allocation work and producing summaries and reports as required
  • Provide leadership and expertise in identifying opportunities to maximise potential for funding streams, favourable contractual payment schedules and increase operational cost efficiencies

Experience and skills required:


  • Experience in museums/gallery management and business administration
  • Skills including financial reporting, financial management, resource allocation and risk management
  • Highly numerate and excellent IT skills
  • Successful track record in project development, management and delivery
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Working hours:


  • 35 hours per week, Monday Friday 9am5pm
  • Hybrid working, two three days onsite and from home
