Description

We are looking for an experienced General Maintenance Person to join the team at our Residential EMI Care homes in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.


Responsibilities/General duties:


  • General maintenance of all areas
  • Maintenance of garden and patio areas
  • Cutting of grass and general tidy of communal sitting areas, including potting and shrubs.
  • Decorating bedrooms/shared areas/corridors such as painting/wallpapering etc
  • Basic plumbing work
  • Completing home checks/fire checks/water checks
  • Health and Safety checks throughout the home
  • Maintaining gardens and general upkeep of the building
  • Liaise with outside companies and head office regarding health and safety/maintenance issues
  • Daily update via maintenance log to Home Manager on jobs done

Experience and qualifications you will need:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role in a care/nursing home would be ideal
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications would be desirable
  • Good Health and Safety awareness
  • Basic plumbing skills required
  • Basic carpentry skills required
  • Must be able to drive
  • Must be willing to work outside of working hours to suit the needs of the home and in emergency situations

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
From £10.42 per hour
