Description

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Audiology Department is excited to offer a brand new full time, 2 year fixed term position (or internal secondment) for a Lead Clinician with special responsibility for leading on the introduction of a pilot - providing private hearing aids and a micro suction service.

The post holder will be expected to work cross site (at sites in Eastbourne and Hastings); therefore access to transport is essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Audiologist, who preferably has had some previous experience of working within the Audiology private sector.

Regular clinical work in hearing assessment and rehabilitation will be expected; as well as vestibular clinical work once a vestibular service is established.

This role will include mentoring of junior colleagues. There will also be opportunities for service development, research and to develop your leadership skills.

You will be an experienced audiologist educated to degree level with an audiology qualification. You will have a minimum of three years clinical experience post qualification. In addition, experience of line manging staff would be an advantage.

As well as being fully competent in all aspects of routine hearing and assessment and rehabilitation, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a flexible, adaptable approach.

You will have an ability to exercise good judgement based on up-to-date knowledge and experience, and be experienced working at a high level of autonomy.

We currently offer hearing services in both hospital and community settings across East Sussex - both as AQP and complex (non-AQP) providers.

We provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation hearing service for both adults and children which includes tinnitus and hyperacusis management, learning disability clinics, and Newborn hearing screening.

We are currently developing our dedicated paediatric-to-adult transition service, and the re-introduction of vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation.
